POLILLO, Quezon — Led by medical and dental professionals, Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) volunteers provided free and basic medical and dental services for residents on Polillo Island, Quezon.

On April 19, 2024, the INC medical team (two doctors, three dentists, and two nurses) and other INC volunteers traveled roughly three hours by land and another three hours by boat from Quezon City to the covered court at Barangay Sibulan Sitio Bigyan on Polillo Island where community members proceeded for the 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. event.

Donnabel Azogue, a 14-year-Polillo Island resident, came for medical consultations and a tooth extraction for her husband, Genesis. “This [medical mission] is a big help indeed,” she said while clasping some free medicine for her three kids.

The volunteers making up the medical team are CMDPS (Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society) members.

“CMDPS is an organization in the Church Of Christ made up of volunteer doctors, dentists, and paramedics that help [INC members. and non-INC members],” according to Dr. Denise Sunga, a volunteer dentist from Rizal.

INC members strive to help communities where they serve.

The Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) has active members and congregations in more than 160 countries and territories.
