The Ecclesiastical District of Quezon City started the new year with a special gathering of Church officers in the house of worship of Capitol Congregation on January 2, 2026, with district Church officers overseer Brother Alfredo Lorido officiating.

Citing from the Bible, Brother Lorido reminded the Church officers of the blessings which they received from the previous year, among the greatest of which was that they were able not only to remain but also to perform their respective duties despite the hardships that they went through. As they would continue sojourning this year, they were exhorted to further dedicate themselves to fulfilling their God-given duties in order to secure the promised salvation.

Brother Lorido also emphasized that in the midst of the troubles and dangers in the world at present, the Church officers are the ones who must lead the brethren in trusting in, believing in, and relying on what God can do for His people.

Right after the homily, around 400 additional Church officers were sworn in. Among them, Children’s Worship Service teacher Johnfel Llano from the Riverside Congregation said later that he was “happy for being entrusted with this duty, and by doing so, I can be of help to the Church Administration in taking care of the young brethren.”

“Considering the rapid increase in membership in every local congregation, it is only proper that more brethren take oath as Church officers in order to effectively guide the brethren in their services to our Lord God, and in edifying their faith,” explained Brother Lorido.  — With reports from Elizer Felix Hebrew
