Society of Communicators and Networkers International (SCAN) members from the Ecclesiastical District of Taiwan enhanced their skills in Emergency First Response (EFR) through the EFR Training they attended at the function hall of the Local Congregation of Zhongli on August 2, 2025.
SCAN members were taught essential life-saving procedures, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillator (AED) usage, and choking management.
Juanjuan Qian of the National Resuscitation Council of Taiwan led the training with the SCAN district officers. They demonstrated how to give first-aid to choking victims, perform CPR, and how to use an AED, which the participants likewise did later.
“This training not only equips us with practical skills, but also strengthens our dedication to our duty as SCAN members—ready to assist in saving lives when the need arises,” explained district SCAN president Engelrey Abalos.
District Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer Brother Julius Caezar Santiago supervised the activity. In his closing remarks, he reminded the attendees the significance of upholding their duties to their membership in the Church Of Christ.
“Should a time comes when brethren face danger, I’ll be able to respond right away using what I’ve learned from this training,” remarked SCAN member Daryll Netuliano from the Local Congregation of Luzhu. “I’m truly grateful to the Church Administration for supporting this kind of activity.” — With reports from Karen Analee Abalos of INC News Section
