“Participating in this activity made our bond even stronger. We sang with all our hearts, and had so much fun,” said Eunice Irasusta from the Local Congregation of Union City.

Irasusta was referring to the Songs of Faith, Love, and Hope (SOFLAH) activity that the Ecclesiastical District of Silicon Valley, California, held at the function hall of the Local Congregation of San Jose on October 26, 2025.

The musical activity was participated in by Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from all the district’s 10 local congregations, namely, Fremont, Gilroy, Milpitas, Monterey, Mountain View, Redwood City, Salinas, San Jose, South San Jose, and Union City. District supervising minister Brother Noel S. Gasmen attended the activity, together with other ministers and Church workers.

With guests, brethren filled close to capacity the 500-seater venue. Prior to the opening prayer and the musical performances, a video presentation was shown, featuring glimpses of choir practices as preparation for the day’s event.

Talented brethren in Gilroy and South San Jose Congregations collaborated in singing their rendition of the INC original song Enlightened. Other congregations were each represented by talented brethren, who sang I Have You, Shine, Let’s Not Worry, and Still Blessed by God, among others.

“From the moment it began, the energy in the room felt special and full of emotion. The singing was absolutely beautiful [that] it brought a heartfelt and spiritual atmosphere that really touched everyone there,” observed guest Cassandra Nolasco from Salinas. “I also loved how organized everything was. Over all, it felt like a meaningful experience that brought people together in such a positive and emotional way. It left me feeling grateful, inspired, and connected.”

The choral groups were adjudged according to faithfulness to theme (faith, love, and hope), vocal quality and harmony, creativity and musical arrangement, stage presence and unity, overall impact and message.

“From the preparation to the actual activity, the love and unity in our local congregation were felt. We wanted to really give meaning to the song Hope In God’s Grace. That no matter what happens, when we put our hope and trust in Him, He will make us stronger,” said Irasusta, whose efforts with her talented brethren did not come to naught, having won first place. Fremont Congregation placed second, Mountain View Congregation third.
