Sportsmanship prevails during Tokyo, Japan District’s INC Unity Games

Players and spectators from the Ecclesiastical District of Tokyo, Japan gathered for their much-anticipated INC Unity Games at the Inashiki City Edosaki Gymnasium in Ibaraki Prefecture on May 6, 2025.

Aimed at strengthening camaraderie among brethren, the event featured badminton, basketball, chess, table tennis, and volleyball for both men and women. Teamwork and sportsmanship prevailed throughout the day among the players and cheering crowd.

The winners received medals and trophies right after the friendly competitions. The winners were:

Basketball, chess, badminton: Yokohama Congregation

Men’s volleyball: Gunma Congregation

Women’s volleyball: Ibaraki Congregation

Table Tennis: Yokota Congregation

“It’s an amazing experience to witness how the different local congregations gathered in this venue not just to compete, but to strengthen our bond and unity in the Church,” volleyball player Anna Mae Demafelis from the Numazu Congregation expressed. “There’s a spirit of joy and camaraderie in the air, and it reminds me that we are one with the Church Administration in promoting healthy living, teamwork, and brotherly love.”

“I was nervous while playing because there were many brethren watching, but we in the team still did our best and enjoyed the game,” basketball player Seven Takahashi from the Miyashiro Congregation shared. — With reports from Wyrlo Ulayao
