God sees beyond what people can see and fights alongside them in their everyday battles in life—
at times without them even noticing it.

LIFE DOES NOT always go as planned. People, including members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), face obstacles that seem insurmountable, burdens that feel too heavy, and dire situations when giving up seems easier than pressing on. But in such times, Church members must remember that they are not alone because the Almighty God is on their side.

This truth was emphasized by Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, the Executive Minister, during a worship service he officiated at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Sampaloc, Ecclesiastical District of Manila. The momentous occasion marked the congregation’s 105th anniversary. During this sacred gathering, 34 ministerial workers received the laying on of hands by the Executive Minister, thereby becoming ministers of the gospel in the Church.

Brother Eduardo Manalo further taught from the Holy Scriptures that God sees beyond what people can see and fights alongside them in their everyday battles in life—at times without them even noticing it. Thus, the Executive Minister urged the brethren to be strong and courageous, bearing in mind that God is always on their side.  The importance of faith in navigating adversity was emphasized—a message that deeply resonated with the brethren, who are sometimes overwhelmed and feel isolated amid life’s many challenges.

The Executive Minister emphasized that the world is no longer as it once was. Natural disasters are more frequent, armed conflict is widespread, and life has become increasingly burdensome. These are seen as clear signs that Judgment Day is drawing near. Yet, amid these troubling times, the faithful find comfort in their service to God.

In times of uncertainty and hardship, it is easy for many to feel overwhelmed by the weight of the world. However, the message delivered by Brother Eduardo Manalo served as a powerful reminder to the members of the Church Of Christ: they need not be afraid.

On January 18, 2020, five years ago, the Executive Minister led a worship service for the brethren of the Sampaloc Congregation in celebration of its centennial anniversary.

Before the sermon of the Executive Minister, the opening prayer was led by Brother Wilson R. Cayago. Brother Romer D. Galang led the prayer after the Bible-based preaching. Brother Arnel R. Canicosa led the prayer after the laying on of hands by the Executive Minister. The prayer for the voluntary offerings was led by Brother Glicerio P. Santos IV and Brother Angelo Eraño V. Manalo said the benediction.
