The Bible teaches that the true servants of God are mere sojourners in this world as it is not their true home. As they journey through life, the devil, their enemy, will attempt to disrupt their focus so that they would lose their way and miss out on salvation. That is why they must do everything to resist him, remaining steadfast until they receive God’s promised salvation.
These are but some of the important points in the biblical lesson taught by the Executive Minister of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, during a worship service he officiated at the Local Congregation of Carreon Village, Ecclesiastical District of Quezon City, on May 23, 2025. With great anticipation, the brethren arrived early at the house of worship to pour their hearts out in prayer and to sing hymns of praises to God. Five months after the house of worship dedication on December 13, 2024, the brethren were overjoyed for this was the first time that the Executive Minister visited their local congregation.
The opening prayer was led by Brother Virgilio A. Del Rosario Sr., the district supervising minister. The Executive Minister extended his greetings to the district for its upcoming 19th anniversary before proceeding with his sermon. Through the Bible, he emphasized the importance of turning away from darkness and rejecting all that is sinful and wrong, for the devil is always watching and ready to cause harm, especially to the Church Of Christ members. That is why Brother Eduardo Manalo reminded them that, as true Christians, they must triumph over the influences of the wicked world.
In a world filled with conflicting influences and beliefs, what keeps a true servant of God anchored in the true faith is consistent obedience. Time and again, this affirms the truth that those who remain obedient are never alone, for God will never forsake them. Even when life unleashes its fiercest storms, true servants stand firm in the faith.
After the Executive Minister’s sermon, Brother Arnel A. Tumanan led the closing prayer. The prayer for the voluntary offerings was led by Brother Glicerio P. Santos IV. Brother Bienvenido C. Santiago said the benediction.
In a world where darkness grows stronger, the servants of God who not only know what is right but choose to stand their ground in the true faith—in prayer and in worship—are the ones who find true strength. The Lord God never forsakes His servants who stay steadfast in the faith and are always obedient. That is why, as Judgment Day draws nearer, it is the top priority of Church Of Christ members to turn away from sinful ways and live in accordance with God’s will.
