“When I learned there would be a worship service in French, I was overjoyed to take part—it felt truly special, especially as it was the first time I’ve experienced this in Canada within the true Church Of Christ,” French-speaking Bible student Rodrigue Djomine expressed. “This is a meaningful opportunity for the Francophone community in the Church.”

The Local Congregation of Steinbach in the Ecclesiastical District of Manitoba, Canada held its first French-English worship service in Canada at their place of worship on June 18, 2025.

District supervising minister Brother Roland Andrade delivered the Bible-based homily in said two languages. He exhorted the attendees to continue strengthening their faith for them to be pleasing before God.

On behalf of the district, he added, “We’re grateful to the Church Administration for approving the first French-English worship service in Canada, and we promise our continued efforts in the work of propagation for God’s glory.”

“I thank God for this blessing for our local congregation and district, as it marks the very first bilingual worship service in Canada,” choir member Edlynne Mae Paez enthused.

The said progress was deemed timely as French is one of the two official languages spoken in the country, the other one being English. French language also plays a significant role in Manitoba as it is home to one of the most concentrated francophone communities outside Quebec (immigratemanitoba.com). — With reports from Jason Abrias of INC News Section
