Taguig, the local congregation named after the city in Metro Manila, Philippines that is the birthplace of God’s Messenger in these last days, Brother Felix Y. Manalo, reached its 80th anniversary.
Such a milestone was commemorated by Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members there through a concert that the congregation’s Christian Family Organizations (CFO) officers organized. It was held at Lakeshore Hall, Taguig City on May 18, 2025, three days after the congregation exactly reached its anniversary.
Assistant district supervising minister Brother Herbert Lazala, district Church officers overseer Brother Resty Sangalang, and district CFO overseer Brother Mark Malicat graced the event with their presence.
First off the day’s event was the opening remarks by resident minister Brother Wilfredo Aroplo Jr. It was followed by opening numbers titled Gising, Kapatid (Be Awake, Brethren), and Ilagak ang Pag-asa sa Biyayang Darating (Put Your Hope In The Grace That Will Be Yours), which the Iglesia Ni Cristo Production Company (INCPC) performed. Then, an audio-visual presentation was shown, highlighting the local congregation’s humble beginnings.
Afterwards, more talented brethren likewise showcased their rendition of INC original music, such as Tatlong Araw at Tatlong Gabi (Three Days And Three Nights), Ang Sugo ng Diyos sa mga Huling Araw (God’s Messenger In These Last Days), either solo, duet or even quartet, and as a chorale group.
Months prior to this anniversary celebration, all that were involved hoped for its success, and so they “conducted devotional prayers at the house of worship,” shared Technical Support for Video streaming officer and performer Aiko Lucomora.“It’s truly delighting to be able to use our skills in music to serve God,” added local secretary and choir member Mark Ron Corpuz who was among the event organizers.
Among the attendees were finance officers Ronave Batiles and Jocelyn Salvado who shared that they were amazed with “the activity being well-prepared, and the venue filled with brethren bonding as they enjoyed every part of the program.” Batiles, who has been enlisted in Taguig Congregation since her youth days, also recalled, “Persecution then were severe until the Church Administration approved the construction of our beautiful house of worship. People were astounded. Such a feat led them towards having interest about the Church Of Christ until eventually, they’ve become its members.”
“Through this activity, the brethren recollected memories of hardship and trials that they surpassed with God’s help, which paved the way to their becoming firm in the faith,” expressed Brother Aroplo. On behalf of the congregation, he added that “we will all the more be active in our services to God so as to please Him.” — With reports from Darlene Factes and Sir Aris Galias
