A year after the Central Temple was dedicated to God in 1984, a part of the sacred edifice, the Santuario (sanctuary), was designated as a Children’s Worship Service (CWS) Dako or place. Celebrating its 40th anniversary on August 24, 2025, the Santuario CWS held a Talent Showcase and art gallery exhibit a week prior, on August 17.
This celebration “marks a major milestone and signifies Santuario CWS’s commitment, resilience, and never ending devotion in glorifying and worshiping our Almighty God for over four decades now,” said CWS watcher Erlaine Divine David.
For the day’s activities held at the Central District Hall, the CWS officers and members were led by the Templo Central Congregation’s Christian Family Organizations overseer Brother Rowell Macatuno and Santuario CWS chairperson Angelica Villaroman, together with CWS resident teachers Marco Angelo De Dios, Neil Angelo Yacap, and Elijah Duero.
Upon entering the venue, attendees first viewed the art gallery exhibit, which was themed by the said CWS’s 40th anniversary, the Church’s 111th anniversary and the current theme of the Church’s activities: “No Matter What Happens, Let Us Serve God So We Will Attain Salvation.” The exhibit displayed the children’s creative works for parents and their fellow CWS members to appreciate.
They then proceeded to the seats to witness the Talent Showcase. After a prayer by Duero, an audiovisual presentation was presented. It featured brief interviews with some children and the CWS officers who answered some questions, such as: What do you love about the CWS? Why is it important? And, Why is it important to hold office in the CWS?
Then, De Dios said the opening remarks, thanking all in attendance, parents and children alike, especially the Church Administration for supporting such activities and being instrumental for the CWS’s red-letter day. Right after was talented children’s performance of INC original songs titled People Of God Give Him Glory, Together, Create In Us A Clean Heart, Though I’m Little, among others.
Much to the delight of everyone, there was also a photo booth; giveaways were distributed.
“Our Dako continues to be successful in edifying the faith of the Church Of Christ’s young members,” attested CWS officer Jabez Villan Pastores. An aspiring CWS teacher, he added that the activity “has really inspired me to be more responsive in activities, such as this. All present were happy. I’ll forever be active in my Church office and obey all of God’s commandments at all times.”
“God truly strengthens His people from generation to generation. Despite trials and challenges, He has always provided the strength and wisdom, ensuring that the faith of the young members continues to be nurtured,” enthused another CWS officer, William Edward Norton. On his part, he added, “I will fulfill my duty with all my heart, always helping the children remain solid in their faith. I will soldier on in serving God, for serving Him is my greatest privilege.”
