Motivated by faith and love for their fellowmen, the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members in the Local Congregation of Templo Central, Ecclesiastical District of Central, Philippines, volunteered as donors during a blood donation activity simultaneously held in three venues on February 17, 2024.

The said venues were the multi-purpose hall of Sun Star Building, in LIG Condominium; the New Era Brgy. Hall; and the covered court of New Era High School in Quezon City, Philippines.

The District Christian Medical and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) officers, staff of the Social Services Office (SSO) of the Church, and personnel from medical institutions including the New Era General Hospital and the Philippine Blood Center joined efforts in facilitating the said humanitarian activity. A total of 190 bags of blood were collected.

“I know many people who need blood [transfusion]. By volunteering myself, I help save lives, and being of help to my fellowmen is fulfilling to me and, most of all, pleasing before God’s sight,” said Benito Albez, an active Church member.

Included among the beneficiary organizations was the Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital (JBLMGH), in the neighboring province of Pampanga. A registered medical technologist from the said hospital, Ma. Suzanne David, who was present in the said activity, was thankful for the chance to help in the said activity.

Rederick Borrero, a Buklod officer, enthused, “It feels so nice that I’m finally able to donate blood. I hope that, in my little way, I’d be of help for my fellowmen’s welfare.”

The Local Congregation of Templo Central is within the vicinity of the Iglesia Ni Cristo Central Office Complex. Its 7,000-seater house of worship, the Central Temple, is located along Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City, Philippines. — With reports from INC News Section
