At various local congregations, ministers, ministerial workers, and Church officers in the Ecclesiastical District of Texas led in conducting a series of Care For Humanity events, all of which were conducted in May 2025, in collaboration with the Church’s FYM Foundation.
“The Care For Humanity events done in our district were intended to share our concern and genuine love for our fellowmen, especially to those who are in need, in compliance with God’s command written in Proverbs 4:27, that is, whenever we possibly can, we must help those who are in need,” said Brother Teodorico Samson Jr., assistant district supervising minister. Through these also, “the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) would be introduced to people here in Texas,” he added.
Kicking off with the series was that of the Local Congregation of Humble held on May 11, 2025. Gathered in the congregation’s function hall, guests were entertained by performances of select brethren who sang their rendition of some INC Original Music. After the opening remarks by district supervising minister Brother Noel C. Caritativo, food packages were then distributed.
Preparation for events like this “really took much time and effort,” shared district Buklod president Isagani Castillo, who was among the event’s performers. “But in the end, it’s all worth it, seeing the guests and brethren alike enjoying. Most especially, I believe that this has brought glory to God,” he added.
The socio-civic activity led by the Houston Congregation was held the next day, May 12, at the Loch Katrine Apartments, which is more than a mile away from their house of worship. There, the Church members distributed food packages to the residents, among others the brethren also invited.
“I believe that this particular Church did exactly what the Bible states: to help others in need, which was a big blessing to me and my family. I was so impressed how the Iglesia Ni Cristo members came together to help others in need,” said recipient Griselda Hernandez.
The local congregations of Austin, Killeen, Edinburg, and Universal City conducted their Care For Humanity events within the premises of the compound their houses of worship on May 13, 16, 17, and 18, respectively.
“I think what the Church Of Christ does is something that is good. It sets a good example to others when it comes to helping those who are in need,” said recipient María De La Cruz Reyes, who benefited during the Care For Humanity in Edinburg. She has decided to continue learning more about the Church.
On the fourth week, Church members in the Corpus Christi Congregation traveled 22 miles from their house of worship to conduct the said humanitarian activity at Sunray RV Park in the city of Aransas Pass on May 24.
Wrapping up the Care For Humanity event series in the District of Texas was that the Local Congregation of San Antonio held on May 30, two miles away from their house of worship, at the Timberwilde Senior Apartments. Its residents, among others also invited, gladly received the care packages.
More than 300 Texan residents received food packages, many of whom have expressed interest to know more about the Church Of Christ.
“We will have more upcoming activities, especially that our district is preparing for its 25th anniversary in October this year,” shared Brother Caritativo. Speaking on behalf of the district, he added, “Ministers, ministerial workers and Church officers, along with all brethren here in the Ecclesiastical District of Texas will continue intensifying our efforts in doing the works that please God.”
