As part of the 50th anniversary commemoration of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) in Japan, the Ecclesiastical District of Tokyo, Japan held an INCenterstage at Smile Omori in Ota City, Tokyo on December 22, 2025.

The stage play was interspersed with performances of INC original music, showcasing the musical talents of Church members while expressing the district’s collective gratitude to God for the Church’s presence in the country for five decades now.

After the opening remarks delivered by assistant district supervising minister Brother Kristoffer Reniel Gonzales, brethren-performers from various congregations gave their renditions of Christian songs such as People of God Should Continue To Please Him, We Praise You, I’ll Hold On Tightly To My Hope, among others.

“Being part of the INCenterstage for the Church’s 50th anniversary here in Japan was truly an honor,” remarked assistant choir leader of the Ichikawa Congregation and performer Aimi Watanabe. “Each performance depicted a proof of God’s help over the past 50 years and a reflection of the unity, devotion, and shared faith of the brethren here in Japan.”

This musical showcase was one among other activities that the district organized to mark the Church’s golden anniversary in Japan, which officially reached such milestone in December 2025. Through original compositions and hymns, participants aimed to share their faith and edify one another.

“Helping organize the district’s INCenterstage was a powerful experience that really showed how unity and the spirit of service bring everyone together,” said choir member and event organizer Anjamille Raagas from the Shinagawa Congregation. “This event was a special way to celebrate 50 years of the Iglesia Ni Cristo in Japan and share our collective thanks to God for all His blessings.”

District supervising minister Brother Amante Rodriguez said the closing remarks exhorting the brethren to continue in their strong faith and be one with the Church Administration in proving their gratitude to God.

“I’m truly grateful to God for giving me the opportunity to help in this event to celebrate the anniversary of the Church in this country,” expressed district multimedia and organizer Kaezeth Mercado from Shinagawa. “This activity beautifully showcases the Church’s growth while inviting others to learn more about its teachings.”

The 50th anniversary celebration included various activities across Japan, including the pastoral visitation of Church Of Christ Executive Minister Brother Eduardo Manalo in Osaka on August 10, during which the first ordination of ministers in Japan was also held. — With assistance from Wyrlo Ulayao and Seiko Sasaki
