The Ecclesiastical District of Tokyo, Japan recently established the Haneda Extension. Its inaugural worship service was held on April 15, 2025 at the Nishi-Magome Municipal Life Community Center in Ota, Tokyo, Japan.
As eager as the extension’s pioneering members, brethren in the Local Congregation of Shinagawa, from which the extension sprang forth, and those from the neighboring Local Congregation of Kawasaki also attended the sacred occasion. District supervising minister Brother Amante Rodriguez officiated at the inaugural worship service.
Succeeding worship services of the extension will be held at 3-chōme-6-4 Haneda, Ota, Tokyo, Japan. Kris Karlo Artienda, a deacon, and Yuka Artienda, a finance officer, volunteered that part of their property to be used as the place of worship of Haneda Extension. The couple were originally enlisted in Shinagawa Congregation.
The brethren in Haneda had their fair share of “challenges, such as having to travel for more than an hour just to attend worship services” at Shinagawa. “After being blessed with this property, we deemed it fitting and deeply desired for it to become a place of worship,” said Kris Karlo.
On behalf of the brethren in the Tokyo, Japan District, Brother Rodriguez said, “We express our deep gratitude to the Lord God for placing a leader in the Church who always care for our spiritual welfare. Through the leadership of the Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, the unwavering love of God is truly felt by the brethren in our district.” — With reports from Ronessa Dopeño of INC News Section
