Members of the newly established Local Congregation of Upli, Ecclesiastical District of Dasmariñas City, Cavite, in the Philippines, held its inaugural worship service as a full-fledged congregation on January 10, 2026.
A few weeks earlier, on December 24, 2025, the Church Administration approved that it be elevated from being an extension of Buck State Local Congregation for several years.
Brother Gerardo T. Purificacion, a minister of the gospel, officiated at the inaugural worship. In his Bible-based homily, he called on the attendees that more than material needs they could offer their fellowmen through the Church’s socio-civic activities, it is the true faith that they ought to share as members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ). By demonstrating such genuine love, the minister explained, they lead others into the true Church and to God’s promised salvation on Judgment Day.
After the homily, district edification overseer Brother Richer Cortez led the oath-taking of 16 additional officers in the newly local congregation.
“This occasion is a very great blessing for us,” enthused Felipe Siggaoat Jr., newly appointed third head deacon. “Like what I’ve learned from the homily, I will prove my love for others through actions. I will redouble my efforts in helping in the socio-civic and propagational activities launched by the Church Administration.”
“The brethren and officers are filled with gladness,” attested resident minister Brother Darius Almozara. On their behalf, he added, “We’re all the more inspired to remain zealous in our services to the Lord God and all other activities of the Church.”
A few hours prior to the inaugural service, the congregation conducted a medical-dental mission, under the supervision of the district supervising minister, Brother Ricky S. Dante. Facilitated by healthcare professionals from the New Era General Hospital and officers and members of the district’s Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society, they provided for free medical, dental, and OB-GYN checkups as well as eyeglasses, medicines, and vitamins to the beneficiaries.
“Happiness. This is what I feel upon receiving free medical services from this activity launched by the Church Administration,” said deacon Seth Rivera. “This medical mission is a great help for us considering hospitals are far from our place.” — With assistance from Erman Robles and Niko Moncada
