To celebrate its first anniversary of establishment, the Ecclesiastical District of Western Australia held five activities throughout January 2026, all of which were led by the district supervising minister Brother Nolly Esperanza.
Special gathering
All Church officers and the brethren in the district attended a special gathering held on January 4, 2026, two days after the district’s anniversary. The house of worship of the Local Congregation of Fremantle served as the host site. Other local congregations connected to the event through livestreaming.
Brother Esperanza officiated at the special gathering. In his Bible-based homily, he taught the attendees that they must unite with the Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, being the leader God has placed in the Church. To do so, they must carefully obey all that he teaches, which are none other than the words of God, for God to bless them with more victories.
Evangelical missions
A week after, the ecclesiastical district conducted evangelical missions at various venues on January 11. More than a hundred guests attended.
The said venues were the Perth Congregation’s house of worship, Durack Community Arts Centre in Northern Territory, Fremantle Congregation’s house of worship, Queens Park Hall, and Kalgoorlie Hall. There, Brother Esperanza, assistant district supervising minister Brother Felix Santos, district edification overseer Brother Emmanuel Era, district Church officers overseer Brother Joemel Remoticado, and Kalgoorlie Congregation resident minister Darlhey Pataweg officiated, respectively.
The officiating ministers taught the guests how the Bible and science do not contradict each other.
Geraldton GWS inaugural worship service
On January 17, the ecclesiastical district held the inaugural worship service of Geraldton Group Worship Service (GWS) at Geraldton Multipurpose Centre. The said GWS sprang forth from the Local Congregation of Midland. As delighted as the Church members in the said GWS, brethren from nearby congregations also attended the event.
The special gathering was officiated by Brother Esperanza. Through his preaching, the brethren were inspired by the words of God encouraging them to continue placing their complete trust and hope in God no matter what happens.
INConcert
The INConcert, which was the highlight of the monthlong celebration of the district’s first anniversary, was held the day after, in Perth. The musical event commenced with an opening prayer led by Brother Remoticado. Brother Esperanza graced the event with his presence, delivering the opening remarks.
Each congregation presented their rendition of Iglesia Ni Cristo original music such as Ating Luwalhatiin Siya (Let us glorify Him), Huwag Patayin Ang Ningas Ng Espiritu Santo (Do Not Extinguish The Fire Of The Holy Spirit), Hahawakang Mahigpit Ang Pag-asa (Holding firmly in hope), He Truly Loves The Church Of Christ, Ako’y Mananalangin Sa Bahay Sambahan (I will pray in the house of worship), Panalangin (Prayer), Let Our God Take Charge Throughout Our Lives, Intensify The Holy Work Of Propagation, Renewing Our Lives With Intensity, and God Is By Our Side, He’s A Warrior So Divine.
After the closing remarks delivered by Brother Esperanza, Brother Era led the closing prayer.
Baptism
The last of the activities commemorating the district’s anniversary was the baptism held on January 25 at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Fremantle. Brother Esperanza officiated the baptismal gathering. During the Bible-based lecture, the candidates for baptism were taught to renew their life completely so that the Lord God will bless them in this life and also on Judgment Day. Then, the candidates for baptism took their oath of membership with Brother Era leading them, after which was their actual baptism by immersion into water.
Reactions
Fremantle Congregation choir member Aubrey Austria said, “I feel truly blessed and grateful being reminded through these activities how the Lord God continues looking after our district.”
“Always grateful for the things that God has done for us individually, to our district, and to the Church in its entirety, we, members of the Church Of Christ always give thanks to our Lord God, such as during these special occasions,” shared district Christian Family Organizations overseer Brother Lorenz Salomon.
“Despite challenges, the brethren remain united, active, and steadfast in their faith. New group worship services were established, Church activities prospered, and the members’ zeal is evident,” said Brother Esperanza. On their behalf, he added, “Our hope and conviction remain anchored in God’s promises. We firmly believe that as long as we remain obedient, united, and active in the faith, He will continue to bless, protect, and guide us.” — With reports from Hannah Sharlene Leoncio
