In the month of February, two consecutive special gatherings were officiated by the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ)’s General Secretary Brother Rene J. Panoncillo in the province of Davao, Philippines.
Davao City
The special gathering of choir members across the Ecclesiastical District of Davao City was held at the Gen. Malvar Congregation’s house of worship on February 14, 2026. Those from Camudmud Congregation situated in Samal Island joined via livestreaming.
In his Bible-based preaching, Brother Panoncillo emphasized the significance of the duty they fulfill inside the Church.
“I started as a choir member in the Children’s Worship Service as early as five years old. Until now, 47 years after, I continue fulfilling my duty in the Church’s choir,” said Grace Remoticado of the said congregation. “I’m inspired to become more diligent to perform my duty. I can lose other else, but not my Church membership and my duty inside the Church,” she added.
From the same congregation, Reyna Cordero said, “During the gathering, the Almighty Father’s presence was strongly felt. That all the more motivated me to keep doing my best every time I fulfill my duty.”
Davao del Norte
The next day, the special worship service commemorating the 24th anniversary of the Local Congregation of Capitol, in the Ecclesiastical District of Davao del Norte, was held.
“Even when problems pile up, a true servant of God continues on serving Him. After all, He will not forsake His faithful chosen ones; He will provide for their needs. That’s what I remembered from what Brother Rene taught to us,” said head deacon Diosdado Lagrimas.
On behalf of the congregation, he added, “We thank so much the Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, for sending one of his trusted aides. Our local congregation has been blessed, our faith strengthened. We’re all the more inspired to hold on to our calling.”
Likewise uplifted, choir leader Eduardo dela Cruz enthused, “The lesson I received today shall be embedded in my heart. I will always remember it as I hold on to my duties until the end.”
Named after the Provincial Capitol of Davao del Norte located in Brgy. Mankilam, Tagum City, Capitol Congregation started as an extension of Tagum City Congregation, which houses the district office. — With assistance from Mark Andro T. Milan
