The 11 local congregations of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) on Oahu island in Hawaii, USA, which are under the Ecclesiastical District of Hawaii-Pacific, worked hand in hand to conduct a blood donation drive on August 24, 2025.
It was held in the Ewa Beach Congregation’s function hall.
Led by district Christian Family Organizations overseer Brother Israel Brandon Pacheco, the humanitarian activity was held in collaboration with the Blood Bank of Hawaii (BBH), which set up a mobile donation center at the venue.
“This Church has always been a strong supporter of our community’s needs. It has helped bridge the gap between what we need and what we’re able to collect, thanks to their commitment to the community,” said Mr. Herman Monico of BBH. “I also met many first-time donors, which means new blood types and valuable additions to our blood pool.”
Of the total number of brethren who volunteered from every congregation on the island, almost 70 percent were qualified as blood donors after undergoing the required screenings.
“It’s a great honor to take part in activities like this because it shows how the brethren can reach out, help provide for our fellowmen,” shared Dr. Joshua Garcia, who is also a district Buklod officer from the Local Congregation of Honolulu.
“Brethren shine as lights of the world when they consistently participate in activities like this, being of help to the community, thereby further pleasing the Almighty God,” said Brother Pacheco. — With assistance from Erwin Sunga
