To continually inspire the brethren as they conduct their active worship and services to God, the Ecclesiastical District of Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, Philippines organized various Christian Family Organizations (CFO) activities for them to participate with and benefit from, on June 28 and 29, 2025.
Coastal Clean-up Drive
Brethren from the Local Congregation of Dancalan went to Barangay Bocana, Ilog to conduct a coastal clean-up drive. Assistant district supervising minister Brother Cyrus Sab and resident minister Brother Charlie Fuensalida led them.
“My heart was filled with joy as I had the opportunity to participate in this activity. I believe that in my own little way I’ve been of help in caring for the environment,” finance officer AJ Rose Olgasan said.
CFO Cares
Brethren in the Local Congregation of Candoni were the beneficiaries of the CFO Cares that the district multimedia members and KADIWA officers held, also on June 28, 2025. As their way of showing compassion to those in need, they distributed a hundred bags of rice to their brethren.
“I truly need this during these trying times,” Robelyn Jimenez enthused.
On behalf of the organizers and recipients, KADIWA president and district multimedia member Hexel Bryle De Asis expressed, “We are very thankful that we have the Executive Minister in the Church Of Christ, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, who allowed us to have this opportunity to care for those who are in need.”
Tagisan ng Talino
On the following day, June 29, the district’s Children’s Worship Service (CWS) Tagisan ng Talino finals was held. With assistant supervising minister Brother Sab leading the event were district CFO overseer Brother Neil Mangubat and the district CWS officers.
Well represented were the five areas of the district, namely, Sipalay, Himamaylan, Bantayan, Kabankalan, and Isabela. Upon testing the participants’ knowledge of CWS biblical lessons through a set of easy, average, and difficult questions, Isabela Area’s Shaniel Dane Neolar was declared the champion.
“I did not expect to win, but I reviewed a lot and most especially, I prayed to God everyday,” said 10-year-old Neolar from Hinigaran Congregation. — With assistance from Credenda Balceda of INC News Section
