“My baptism is the most important thing in my life because I want to be saved.”

Thus said Matthew Martin, one of the new converts who received baptism on August 26, 2023, in the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Stockton, Ecclesiastical District of Northeast California.

The said baptism is the fruition of the efforts of the brethren in Northeast California in the work of propagation. According to Genesis Cuadro, who invited Matthew to attend doctrinal instructions and helped him throughout his journey to become a full-fledged member of the Church Of Christ, “His baptism is really an inspiration to me as his missionary sponsor.”

Assistant district supervising minister, Brother Rey M. de Mesa, officiated at the holy occasion, reiterating to the then candidates for baptism the great blessings that they would receive as Church Of Christ members.

In an interview after the baptism, Matthew explained why he decided to join the Church Of Christ. He said, “Other religions I’ve attended veer off from the words of God, whereas the Iglesia Ni Cristo stick to God’s words.” — With reports from Melissa Benedicto of INC News Section
