The evening of January 14, 2024 was “a night to remember” for the married couples from the Ecclesiastical District of Taiwan South during the “Buklod Night,” having experienced how important it was in bolstering the marital bond, as well as the Christian brotherhood among them.

Almer Batac Leduna, one of the head deacons of the Chiayi Congregation, said, “This activity gave us the chance to bond with other married couples, most of all, with our better half. It also taught me the importance of having a strong faith so that my relationship with my wife will last longer and be edified as we serve the Lord God.”

It was the first time in years that they conducted such formal socialization event. “Since the pandemic, it was the first time that an activity was held for us,” said Manuel Montano Jr., head deacon of the Local Congregation of Chiayi. “That’s why we were so excited and overjoyed to be with other fellow Buklod members.”

Held at the Chiayi Evergreen Palace Hotel along Gugong Blvd, Taibao City, Chiayi County, Taiwan, the formal socialization event was led by Brother Mayonel Taal. In his opening remarks by way of a brief but uplifting message, the district supervising minister emphasized the need to strengthen the faith of each family member, beginning with the parents, as it is vital in their preparation for the nearing salvation.

Afterwards, the married couples enjoyed the rest of the evening participating in exciting activities, which included fun games. Success stories of a happy marriage were shared by select couples. Local congregations that stood out in works of edification and propagation, especially in connection with the Buklod organization, were given recognition.

As a newly-wed, Satornino Batas Jr., a choir member and finance officer from the Qianzhen Congregation, considered it a blessing to be among the participants of the Buklod Night. “I cherished the moment I was with my wife during the activity. I thank the Church Administration for always taking care of us and our family through the activities they launch,” he said. — With reports from Lean Maglalang Batas of INC News Section
