The Ecclesiastical District of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, held a baptism at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Downtown, Alberta on August 26, 2023, paving the way for more people becoming full-fledged members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ).

“I was enlightened through the biblical teachings upheld inside the Church Of Christ, which is why I decided to join this Church. I am so thankful to the Lord God,” said Jennifer Dumlao, a newly-baptized from the Local Congregation of Forest Heights.

Before taking their oath of membership, the baptismal candidates received first the words of the Lord God written in the Bible, through the preaching of Brother Marlon Guinto, district Light of Salvation overseer. During his homily, he emphasized that, in order for a person to receive the forgiveness of his sins and be worthy of receiving salvation on Judgment Day, he must be baptized inside the true Church Of Christ and remain active therein no matter what.

“The teachings inside the Church Of Christ are direct from the Bible, which is convincing, compare to other religions out there,” said John Paul Melchor, a newly-baptized from the Local Congregation of Red Deer.

Brother Nathaniel Subala, ministerial worker assigned at the Local Congregation of Ponoka, said his and fellow brethren’s conviction: “As what the Bible attests, the Day of Judgment is nearer now more than ever. But still, many more people need salvation. That is the reason we continue helping in the work of propagation.” — With reports from Odellia Carr and Ramille Joy Macaspac of INC News Section
