Members of the Christian Brotherhood International (CBI) in the Ecclesiastical District of Cebu City, Cebu received added inspiration to study well and serve the Lord better during their special gathering on June 24, 2023 in the house of worship of the Mandaue City Local Congregation.

Brother Jomar Dueñas officiated at the holy occasion. In his homily, he reminded the attendees of biblical tenets on the benefits of pursuing a good education, emphasizing that it is the knowledge of God, however, they should value most by always trusting in what He can do for them.

Moreover, the district supervising minister exhorted the CBI members to devotedly fulfill their duties in the Church, making it as their top priority in order for them to always receive God’s blessings.

Reflecting on the sacred lesson she received, CBI district president Richelle Mae Tiwanac of the Minglanilla Local Congregation said, “The qualities that every youth member of the Church must acquire are [being] faithful, prayerful, and enthusiastic in participating in all Church activities and endeavors, so the Lord God will continue to bless and grant us success in life.”

Junterlyn Barte, a choir member of the Cebu City Congregation, resolved that despite his busy schedule in school, he will “always prioritize my duty to God and to the Church, because I know it is the Lord God Who can truly help me.” He added, “As a student, school athlete, and a Church officer at the same time, I will always manage my time very carefully so that I may not neglect any of my duties.”

James Dale Espera, who was from the same congregation, a CBI chapter director and Senior High School graduating student, concurred: “My duties inside the Church will always be my top priority. Also, I always pray to God and ask for His help so that I may be able to comply all my responsibilities not only in the school but all the more in the Church.” — With reports from Blessie Rempillo of INC News Section
