“Even before dawn, me and my fellow brethren set off to Ciudad de Victoria to participate in the Fun Run segment of today’s CFO Fun Day,” said Kenneth Ibañez, Buklod president of the Local Congregation of Bagong Silang 9, Ecclesiastical District of Caloocan North.

He led the delegation from their local congregation to attend the Christian Family Organizations (CFO) Family Fun Day on August 19, 2023 at the Philippine Stadium in Ciudad Victoria, Bocaue, Bulacan. A total of 13 districts (eight from Metro Manila, five from Bulacan) participated. Church members wore color themed t-shirt that identify their respective districts.

The Fun Run and Fun Cycling events, which began at 5 a.m., set the momentum for the whole day. The roster of other booths and events include: Sumo Inflatable, Dart Balloon, Maze Ball, T-shirt Relay, Giant Checkers, Giant Soccer, Luksong-Tinik, Sack Race, Kadang-Kadang, Rolling Tarpaulin, Tiyakad, Tug of War, Dodge Ball, Toy Bazaar, Videoke Challenge, Food Bazaar, Trade Fair, Kite Flying, and Photo Convention.

In between the fun games, performances of brethren entertained and inspired the attendees.

“This event gave us a very good opportunity to bond with our family and brethren. Indeed, the Church Administration desires to help us to have a break from the stresses of this world. Busy as we are, we should find time for our family and to be active Church members,” shared Arturo Mendoza Jr. from the Local Congregation of Multinational, Ecclesiastical District of Makati.

“I didn’t feel the time passing. That’s when we really enjoy ourselves especially in events where we feel really welcome around people that really care. Becoming a Church member is one of my prayers for I know it will be the greatest blessing from God,” said Angelo De Asis, a doctrinal instructee from the Local Congregation of Muzon, Ecclesiastical District of Bulacan East.

To cap the day’s events, winners from the friendly games were awarded; other participants were given souvenirs. “But above all, what will remind my family of this event is the good time we shared while being united with the Church Administration,” added Ibañez. — With reports from Namilhyn Kumatsu and Kate Ernacio of the INC News Section
