As part of the thrust of the Church Administration to provide every local congregation with a proper place to worship, the newly built house of worship of the Local Congregation of Matanao has been dedicated to the Lord God.

Brother Romer Galang, Church Officers Overseer, officiated at the dedication worship service held on August 25, 2023. Assisting him was the district supervising minister of the Ecclesiastical District of Davao Del Sur, Brother Leo Magtulis, and other members of the district leadership.

“The brethren here are greatly overjoyed upon the completion, and the dedication of their congregation’s new worship building,” said Brother Magtulis. “Despite them having experienced many hardships and trials they managed to endure, remain active, and came to witness this important milestone of their congregation.”

Located some 21 kilometers southwest of the district office in Digos City, the 302-seater concrete edifice features a Johannus organ, a LED wall for videoconferencing, CCTV system, state-of-the-art fire alarms, and other necessary facilities.

“We are proud to say that the worship building is definitely the most beautiful structure built in our area,” remarked Brother Von Bryan Anthony, the Matanao Congregation’s resident minister. “We promise to do everything we can to take good care of our house of worship because this is where we hold our worship services to God.”

Through the years, Loreto Albia, 82, a pioneering member of the congregation, have seen the brethren in Matanao “remain in our faithful service to God—from the times we went to worship at the previous chapel, up until the rise of the new one.” He added, “We’re ever more faithful in our membership inside the Church. I thank the Almighty God for this wonderful blessing we have received.” — With reports from INC News Section
