The Ecclesiastical District of Eastern Ontario, in Canada, one of the newly established districts in the Americas, held its first baptism on November 26, 2023 at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Scarborough.

Brother Paquito Ibañez, district supervising minister, officiated at the baptismal service. In his Scripture-based preaching, he reminded the baptismal candidates that being a member of the true Church is a calling from God, a privilege like no other.

“I’m so thankful to the Father for calling me into the Church Of Christ,” said newly baptized Fatima Aleli Angeles. “The biblical lesson that really impressed me was about having the true faith, that is, one cannot expect to be saved by faith alone concept. He must work out his salvation, such as by worshiping the true God in the true Church.”

Brother Ibañez also reiterated that true members of the Church obey God no matter what. Even if hardships abound, he added, they should firmly believe that the Father will provide the strength and blessings they need.

“Every time I attend the worship service, I’m overjoyed. I’m always edified. I firmly believe that the Lord God is with us. That is why I promise to always participate in the Church’s endeavors,” Angeles added. — With reports from INC News Section
