Being “Canada’s Tournament Capital,” the city of Kamloops is the ideal place for outdoor enthusiasts. With the establishment of Kamloops Group Worship Service (GWS), it has also become an ideal place for true faith to blossom and flourish.

The inaugural worship service of Kamloops GWS, Ecclesiastical District of British Columbia, was held on February 11, 2024 in a function room of DoubleTree by Hilton Kamloops, a hotel along St. Paul Street Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. Brethren from Metro Vancouver area joined them in praising God for such a blessing.

Brother Glendo Baitan, district supervising minister, officiated at the sacred gathering. He taught a biblical lesson emphasizing the importance of sharing the true faith being one of God’s commands. For the brethren to be effective in doing so, Brother Baitan exhorted them to live righteously and remain obedient as well to all other commandments of God.

The brethren in Kamloops used to travel to the Vernon GWS’s place of worship, which is approximately more than 160 kilometers from their houses, to attend worship services there.

“We’re very thankful to our Lord God and to the Church Administration for this memorable event that we are now organized as a GWS,” Ferdinand Francisco, GWS overseer, expressed on behalf of the brethren. “We’re glad that the place of worship is now near to us and we’re inspired to invite our friends here to study God’s words.”

“The establishment of the Kamloops GWS will greatly help in the growth of the Church Of Christ here,” said Brother Gilbert Maniego, district edification overseer. “That is because we will all the more be able to share the true faith to nonmembers, inviting them to attend our evangelical missions, Bible studies, and INC Giving activities.”

“This is a manifestation of God’s help and mercy to the Church,” said Brother Ranniel Serreno, assistant district supervising minister. “We can see the devotion of the brethren here as they regularly traveled for an hour or so to attend the worship services in Vernon in the past. Now, we have the GWS in Kamloops. We firmly believe that with the help of God, they will further be active in their services to God.” — With reports from Mia Mendoza of INC News Section
