To encourage the brethren achieve and maintain their physical well-being, Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) officers in the Ecclesiastical District of Italy South spearheaded a seminar dubbed “Health Watch.” The activity was held on February 23, 2023 at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Roma Est.

Ronald Fernandez and Leizel Vilale, district CMDPS president and vice president, respectively, shared with the brethren essential knowledge on how to prevent diabetes and hypertension. Emphasis was given to having a healthy lifestyle, because these are “the common debilitating illnesses at present,” Vilale said. In addition, “hypertension is twice as frequent in patients with diabetes compared with those who do not have diabetes” (ncbi.nlm.nih.gov).

Afterwards, the CMDPS officers volunteered in measuring the attendees’ blood sugar level and blood pressure.

“Their initiative to lead this activity is timely,” said 71-year-old Carmencita Cayabyab. “It’s beneficial, a big help, especially for those of us who are not always able to have our vital signs checked. I thank the CMDPS officers for such a genuine concern extended to us here.” — With reports from INC News Section
