The Local Congregation of Limassol held its inaugural worship service on October 1, 2023.

Formerly a group worship service, Limassol is the sixth congregation of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) in the island-country of Cyprus and is under the supervision of the Ecclesiastical District of Mediterranean.

Brother Ramil Regino, district supervising minister, officiated at the special worship service. In his Bible-based homily, he reminded the brethren that God’s chosen people in the Christian era are those whom Christ redeemed with His blood, that is, the members of the Church Of Christ. He, thus, exhorted them safeguard their calling and election from God and value it over anything else in the world.

“We firmly believe that having a local congregation here in Limassol will help the brethren in fulfilling their Christian obligations, the primary of which is to worship God,” Brother Regino said in an interview after the gathering. “Also, this will help them in the works of propagation as many more people in this part of the world will have the opportunity to listen to the pristine teachings of God.”

Brother Michael Soriano, resident ministerial worker of Limassol, affirmed, “We promise to God that we will remain united with the Church Administration in all aspects of our spiritual endeavors, as we get closer to our salvation.”

“We are so happy that after our devotional prayers, God has already answered our request and has allowed our former GWS to now be a local congregation. I vow to all the more be dedicated to performing my duty,” said Marilyn Cureg, a finance officer with the new congregation. — With reports from Susan Delos Reyes of INC News Section
