The Ecclesiastical District of Metro Manila East commemorated its 13th anniversary via a series of activities consecutively held at the Ynares Sports Arena, in Old Capitol Compound Shaw Boulevard, Pasig, Metro Manila, in the Philippines, on October 20, 2023.

Organized by the district’s Christian Family Organizations (CFO) under the supervision of Brother Gerino Lalata, district supervising minister, the celebration commenced at 8 a.m. with a physical fitness exercise. Brethren from each local congregation took up the challenge of creating, and later on performing, an exercise routine.

After the physical fitness, a Band Together competition followed. Select talented brethren from different local congregations performed featuring some INC original music. The band from the Local Congregation of Bagong Ilog was declared champion; that of SSS Village and De Castro congregations as second and third placers, respectively.

For the next musical competition, which is the Himig ng Kaligtasan (Songs of Salvation), ten local congregations showed their dynamic renditions of INC original music, which not only the judges but also the audience so enjoyed. Its champion was the choral group representing the Local Congregation of Pasig, those of F. Manalo-San Juan, Manggahan, Mandaluyong, and SSS Village congregations as second, third, fourth, and fifth placers, respectively.

“Our hearts are brimming with joy as we witnessed the celebration of our district’s 13th founding anniversary,” expressed Jovelee Mempin, deacon from the Local Congregation of San Juan. “This milestone anniversary of the district only manifests how God has blessed our district,” he added.

On behalf of all the brethren, Brother Lalata expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Lord God for the blessings He has bestowed on the district. “Even amid great trials and challenges we experienced, especially during the pandemic, still, God has blessed our district with so many blessings and successes. That is why it is only right to commemorate and celebrate all of God’s goodness into our lives. May all the activities that we have done today give glory to our Lord God,” he added. — With reports from Eiji Laine Planas of INC News Section
