Prospective members from various local congregations in the Ecclesiastical District of New Jersey, who completed the requirements for membership in the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), received baptism on August 27, 2023.

Brother Ruben Bustos Jr., assistant district supervising minister, officiated at the  baptismal service held at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Elizabeth.

During his preaching of God’s words, he reiterated to the candidates for baptism the value of their membership in the Church, exhorting them to hold fast until the end to be certain of salvation come Judgment Day.

After the sermon, the candidates for baptism took their oath of membership before being immersed into water to receive baptism just as the Bible prescribes.

“It is a profound awesome feeling having been baptized in the true Church Of Christ. This is the best decision that I have made in my entire life, and it was not that easy knowing that I came from not believing in the true God or in any religion,” said Peter Kahikina, who was among those newly baptized. “However, God is so merciful. He made a way for me to know the Church Of Christ and be introduced to the true faith that will lead me to salvation. I promise that I will not let go of my membership in the Church, and I will be devoted to sharing the true gospel to people for them to know the truth also and be saved on Judgment Day,” he added.

After the baptism, a ‘Welcome, My Brethren’ program followed, which was led by Brother Alex Reyes, the district supervising minister. The new members were introduced by the resident ministers of local congregations to their fellow brethren. Those instrumental in the conversion of the newly baptized were given recognition for their selfless efforts in sharing their faith. —With reports from Raymond Villegas of INC News Section
