The leadership of the Ecclesiastical District of Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, Philippines recently led the dedication to God of a new house of worship in Himamaylan City.

The house of worship was constructed for the brethren from the Cunalom Extension of the Local Congregation of Carabalan, which replaced the makeshift place of worship they built when the extension was established in 2019. Cunalom is a sitio (hamlet) of Barangay Carabalan in the said city.

Brother Armando Bariring Jr., district supervising minister, officiated at the dedication worship service held on September 9, 2023. In his sermon, he exhorted the brethren to wholeheartedly thank the Almighty Father for answering their prayers of having their own house of worship even as they reaffirm their commitment to the worship worthy of His holy name.

“We are so thankful to the Lord God for heeding our prayers,” said Gino Verde, a deacon and one of the first Church members in Cunalom. “All our sacrifices were not in vain, we now have our very own house of worship where we can pray and worship God. It is not easy living in this place, but having a place near where I can ask help from the Almighty gives me strength.”

“We might be far in distance, but we feel the care of the Church Administration evident in our lives. I will continue on serving God no matter what,” said Belinda Helacio, another one of the attendees.

“On behalf of the brethren,” Brother Roniel Rodriguez, assigned minister in Cunalom Extension, said, “we thank the Lord God for the love and care we feel through the Church Administration. We promise to march on and successfully uphold the works of the Church entrusted to us.” — With reports from Elaine Talaban of INC News Section
