The choral group from the Ecclesiastical District of Northeast California emerged champion in the regional Himig ng Kaligtasan (Songs of Salvation) KADIWA and Binhi Edition with their inspiring rendition of “God Will Provide Strength” and “Still Blessed by God.”

The choral competition, conducted under the auspices of the Christian Family Organizations (CFO) Office, served as part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the KADIWA and Binhi organizations. It took place at the Bankhead Theater in Livermore, California, USA on September 23, 2023.

“Our hearts are filled with happiness for our success in this choral competition. Truth is, we would not be able to make it without the help of our Lord God, and so it is only right to give back all the glory to Him,” a member of the winning group, Alexis Masangkay, said. “We sang, ‘Still Blessed by God’, because it conveys that despite all the hardships we go through in life and all our shortcomings before Him, still God loves us and blessed us with His love and graces.”

The Northeast California group bested those from the other five ecclesiastical districts in Western United States, to wit: Ecclesiastical Districts of Los Angeles County, Mountain States, Northwest California, Orange County, and San Diego County, California.

The Orange County California choral group landed second place with their rendition of “I Have You” and the Northwest California chorale third place with “Hope in God’s Grace.” — With reports from Neslie Cavero of INC News Section
