Part of the series of outreach-evangelical missions being conducted in the Visayas region, the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), through the Ecclesiastical District of Leyte West, reached out to the residents of Brgy. Liberty, Ormoc City, Leyte, Philippines on June 29, 2022.

Liberty is a village at the foot of the Mt. Maagonoc, east of the city of Ormoc and accessible via the Lake Danao-Gaas-Liberty Road.

Brethren-volunteers led by ministers and ministerial workers from the district handed out over 1,000 relief packages containing several kilos of rice, canned goods, and some food items, food parcels to the Liberty residents.

Prior to the distribution of the relief aids, which was held at the village’s basketball court, Brother Joy Malte, minister of the gospel, preached about the biblical truth on how to attain salvation as taught by the Savior Jesus Christ Himself, which is by joining His one true Church named the Church Of Christ.

“We can feel the Church’s noble concern for the sake of the salvation of the residents in our barangay [village]. We were inspired by the words of God [taught to us] and so, we’re willing to continue to listen,” expressed, Ricardo Garcia, one of the residents who attended the said outreach program.

Another resident, Buena Manidlangan, said, “We extend our many thanks to the Iglesia Ni Cristo [Church Of Christ] for helping us. There’s no other religion who came here to give aid to us; it’s only the Iglesia Ni Cristo.

In a statement, Brother Fernando Galapon, assistant district supervising minister, said that the activity was conducted as a “way of extending aid to [our] fellowmen. But most importantly, it is in obedience to God’s teaching of letting more people know about His truths for them to be saved.” — With reports from INC News Section
