Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) officers from the Ecclesiastical District of Pampanga West, in the Philippines, spearheaded a blood donation activity on September 2, 2023.

With the house of worship compound of the Local Congregation of Guagua as venue, this socio-civic activity was suppported by the Social Services Office (SSO) of the Church, and was held in collaboration with the Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital (JBLMGH).

“Donating blood is a great help for our fellowmen, especially those who suffer from illnesses that require blood transfusions not only here in the Province of Pampanga but also in the neighboring provinces throughout Central Luzon,” expressed John Paul Vincent Hiwatig, a registered medical technologist from  JBLMGH, which was also the recipient of the activity’s cause.

Volunteers first underwent health examination to ascertain that they are qualified to be blood donors. The actual donation followed; 110 blood bags were collected.

“Participating in the activities launched by the Church Administration like this brings joy to my heart,” said Marlon Manlapaz, Buklod member of Guagua Congregation. “Aside from helping our fellowmen in need, donating blood also improves my physical and emotional health,” he added.— With reports from Alane Serrano of INC News Section
