Of the seven choirs competing for the Himig ng Kaligtasan (Songs of Salvation)-KADIWA and Binhi Edition finals in the Ecclesiastical District of Cagayan West on August 6, 2023, the choir comprising the local congregations in Sanchez Mira area emerged champion.

A part of the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the KADIWA and Binhi organizations this year, the said event was held at Sanchez Mira People’s Gymnasium, Cagayan, Philippines.

Other choirs were from the clusters of Allacapan, Bacsay, Claveria, Flora, Libertad, and Sta. Marcela areas. They all competed for the best rendition of the Iglesia Ni Cristo original music Bahay Sambahan (house of worship).

Brother Rodel Barrera, district supervising minister, gave the opening remarks that inspired the contestants and audience. With the contestants’ performances were intermission numbers of select KADIWA, Binhi, and Children’s Worship Service (CWS) members. The event concluded with the awarding ceremony. Trophies were handed to the champion and runners-up.

“We thank our Lord God for the blessings in our district,” said Brother Charleston Nilo, district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer. “We also thank Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, our Executive Minister, as well as Brother Angelo Eraño V. Manalo, the CFO Coordinator, for supporting this activity that has all the more strengthened our faith, especially of the young members of the Church in our district.” — With reports from Nyle Greth Rosales of INC News Section
