The Church’s local congregations each in two neighboring barangays in Cebu City, Philippines jointly conducted “Welcome, My Brethren” on June 11, 2023, at the La Paloma Gymnasium located in Tisa, one of said barangays—the other one is Pardo.

The local congregations of Pardo and Tisa in the Ecclesiastical District of Cebu City, Cebu combined their efforts and resources for the success of the said event to formally welcome the newly baptized members of the Church, as well as the prospective members and the doctrinal instructees.

The Christian Family Organizations (CFO) officers of the two local congregations organized the welcome program under the supervision of Brother Jomar Dueñas, district supervising minister.

The program started with the opening prayer led by Brother Bobby Mangubat, resident minister of the Pardo Congregation. Brother Marbuen Alipin, district counselor, delivered the opening remarks

Select brethren performed dance and song numbers featuring the Iglesia Ni Cristo original music. This was followed a video presentation about the Church Of Christ and some inspiring convert stories.

Furthermore, the CFO officers prepared fun games for the enjoyment of the attendees to build stronger rapport among them as brethren in the faith.

“I am so happy attending this activity of the Iglesia Ni Cristo. I feel the warm welcome of the brethren even though I am not yet a member of the Church,” enthused Ma. Fenila Fernandez, a doctrinal instructee.

“The activity truly inspired not only the brethren but also those in the process of joining the Church,” remarked Brother Jaime Ong, resident minister of the Tisa Congregation. “And for this we are so thankful to the Church Administration for implementing such activity that truly edified the faith of the brethren.” — With reports from Blessie Rempillo of INC News Section
