Through 14 evangelical missions throughout the Ecclesiastical District of Naga City, Camarines Sur, simultaneously held on June 9, 2023, Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members there further made known to their fellowmen the true faith.

Referred to as the “Heart of Bicol” region in the Philippines, Naga City is so called for being “the regional center of commerce and trade, culture, and religion” (naga.gov.ph).

During these occasions, thousands of guests listened to the words of God delivered by officiating ministers led by Brother Misael Dungca Jr., district supervising minister. He preached at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Libmanan.

Mainland

The said evangelical missions were held at the houses of worship of the local congregations of Calabanga, Campo IV, Cararayan, Libmanan, Naga City, Pasacao I, Pili, San Fernando, Sipocot, and Tinambac, which represented ten of the 12 areas of the district. Meanwhile, in Railroad Area, the same evangelistic activities were held in two houses of worship, that of Ragay and Sinuknipan.

“As soon as I heard about this activity, the first thing I did was distribute religious magazines through which I invited my siblings, colleagues, relatives, and friends. Fortunately, among those who accepted my invitation was my sibling. I’m very happy because it has always been my wish that she be able to listen to God’s teachings upheld inside the Iglesia Ni Cristo,” said Donna Penacilla from Naga City Congregation.

Burias Area

Geographically, Burias Island is one of the three major islands of Masbate province. That is why five local congregations and one group worship service (GWS) there are under the supervision of the Ecclesiastical District of Masbate.

But the ceaseless efforts of brethren from three-hours-away mainland of Naga also found its way to the island, thus the rise of ten local congregations, one extension, and four GWS that compose the district in Naga’s 12th area, which was named after the island.

Once more, they held evangelical missions on June 9 at two venues, the houses of worship of the local congregations of San Pascual and San Pedro.

“I’m happy and thankful for having been invited here. I noticed the orderliness and discipline. But what stood out to me the most was the biblical lesson that there is only one true God,” said Marites Plopinio, a guest.

After these events, hundreds of guests expressed their willingness to become doctrinal instructees.

As of this writing, the Ecclesiastical District of Naga City, Camarines Sur has 83 local congregations, 12 extensions, and 18 GWS under its care. — With reports from Rod Mortega Jr. and Cherry Abad of INC News Section
