Where salvation dwells

It is human instinct to go to a safe place as quickly as possible whenever there is danger. In the midst of sufferings, people seek refuge to survive. On Judgment Day, people cannot avoid facing the greatest danger to their lives. On that day, the Lord will give His judgment to humankind, and the ungodly will be destroyed by fire or will be cast into the lake of fire (II Pet. 3:5–7; Rev. 20:14). This is the second death that is the full payment for sins (Rom. 6:23). The Bible says that all men have sinned except Christ (Rom. 5:12; I Pet. 2:21–22). Thus, all people need to be saved on Judgment Day.

In the Christian Era, God has pronounced His love and mercy toward mankind by means of His master plan of salvation—that people become members of the Church which is Christ’s body:

“May he be given glory forever and ever through endless ages because of his master plan of salvation for the Church through Jesus Christ.” (Eph. 3:21 Living Bible)

“For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.” (Eph. 5:23 New King James Version)

“And He is the head of the body, the church …” (Col. 1:18 NKJV)

The Church that Christ will save is the one that He purchased or redeemed with His precious blood—the Church Of Christ (Acts 20:28 Lamsa Translation). The Church Of Christ, therefore, is the only safe place of refuge on the day of God’s wrath because it is where salvation dwells.

Thus, once a person becomes a member of the Church Of Christ, he should remain steadfast in his calling, fulfill all of his spiritual duties, and safeguard his membership in the Church Of Christ.
