In an effort to be of help to the community in keeping the coastal areas clean and at the same time raise environmental concern and awareness among their fellowmen, members of the Local Congregation of Baoshan, Ecclesiastical District of Taiwan, conducted a coastal clean-up activity on January 7, 2023.

For the said activity, members of the Buklod and KADIWA organizations gathered at the vicinity of Nanliao Fishing Harbor in Hsinchu City, a popular destination for recreational activities. There, they cleared a stretch of the coastline of rubbish including plastic products, discarded fishing gears, and food wrappers. While at it, they made sure to segregate the materials collected into non-recyclables and recyclables.

“I’m glad that I was able to take part in the cleanup activity launched by the Church Administration. This gave me a valuable opportunity to help our community and the environment,” Rachelle Seclon, a deaconess and finance officer, expressed.

After the cleanup efforts, the brethren also took the chance to spend time together, bolstering the bond of brotherhood among them. — With reports from INC News Section
