Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from the Ecclesiastical District of Batac City, Ilocos Norte, in the Philippines, participated in a blood donation activity at the Barangay Hall of Tabug, Batac, on December 2, 2023.

Held for the benefit of the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center, which are both located in the city, this humanitarian activity was made possible with the district’s Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) and Society of Communicators and Networkers International (SCAN).

The volunteer-brethren first underwent medical check-ups and examinations to ascertain if they would qualify to donate blood. At the end of the activity, a total of 85 bags of blood were collected.

“We anticipated this activity,” expressed Rodmer Bolaoat, SCAN district vice president from the Nueva Era Congregation on behalf of his fellow SCAN officers, “for we know that many people will benefit from this blood donation drive.”

Motivated by her aim to show unity with the Church Administration, Erika Manuel, a choir member from the Sto. Niño Congregation and a first-time blood donor, said, “I’m truly grateful for the opportunity. I’m looking forward to the next activity.” — With reports from Jake Torio and District Multimedia
