Five days before the 109th anniversary of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) on July 27, 2023, brethren from the Local Congregation of Tonga were blessed to have their new house of worship dedicated to God, in time for their thanksgiving worship service on July 22.

Masbate Ecclesiastical District’s supervising minister, Brother Nepthalie D. Panes, officiated at the holy gathering. He emphasized to the brethren, during his homily, the firm hope of Church members in attaining salvation as Judgment Day draws near. He also reiterated the utmost significance of building houses of worship for the glory of the Lord God.

“Despite the economic difficulties, the Church Of Christ is unhindered from building new houses of worship because it’s a manifestation that God is helping the entire Church through its Administration whom He places to lead His nation,” attested Brother Panes.

“It’s the faith of the brethren that here, in this house of worship, God listens to the prayers of His servants,” said Brother Andrew Ibana. “We’ll continue to actively attend the worship services and participate in various Church activities.”

Jenny Rojo, a deacon, expressed, “We thank God, through Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, our Executive Minister, for granting us a new and beautiful house of worship.”

Almost two-hour drive away from the district office in Masbate City, the newly dedicated 90-seater house of worship of the Tonga Congregation is situated in Brgy. Tonga in Balud, Masbate, Philippines. — With reports from Raenier Moral and Roxanne Altarejos of INC News Section
