Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from the Ecclesiastical District of Aurora joined hands to help keep their town centers clean in the district-wide clean-up drive on May 26, 2023.

The socio-civic activity simultaneously carried out by Church’s 42 local congregations, five extensions, and six group worship services in the provinces of Aurora and Isabela, Philippines also aimed to spread environmental awareness. It was led by Brother Armando Manas, district supervising minister.

After assembling themselves in their respective local congregations, they proceeded to the central areas of the municipalities in which their congregations are located. These towns were Baler, Casiguran, Dilasag, Dinalungan, Dipaculao, Isabela, Maria Aurora, and San Luis in Aurora, and Dinapique in Isabela Province.

“We coordinated with the local government units and police department and asked them permit for this activity,” Alex Alcantara, head deacon of the Local Congregation of Baler and one of the organizers, explained. “The weather was fair and the brethren were joyful to unite in this activity.”

“We believe our unity in this activity is also to care for our environment,” said Joel Mamugay, head deacon of Mijares Local Congregation. “Together with my family, we gladly took part in this worthwhile endeavor.” — With reports from Yzza Mei Aquino of INC News Section
