The Ecclesiastical District of Calgary, Canada held a baptism on April 27, 2024. The baptismal gathering took place at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Downtown. The baptism was immediately followed by an appreciation activity for the newly baptized brethren, including those who are in the process of joining the Church.

During the baptismal service, Brother Voltaire A. Tamisin, the district supervising minister, taught a Bible-based lesson that as elected by God in these last days, Church Of Christ members are expected to uphold His teachings primary of which is the worship service.

This firm resolve was also uttered by Wilfredo Antonio Gonzales Lopez, one of the newly baptized brethren from Airdrie Congregation, during his interview after the gathering. He described his baptism in the true Church as a “big change.” As a former Catholic member who grew up in Venezuela, he never imagined that God will call him in the true service despite his age. He further promised, “I will remain in the Church until the end and continually worship the Lord.”

Jeto Maranon, instrumental in the conversion of Wilfredo, expressed, “It’s always a great feeling that we are able to share our faith to our fellowmen, and even more if they eventually decide to join the Church Of Christ and become a member of it.”

After the preaching of God’s words, the baptismal candidates took their oath of membership and received their baptism through immersion in water which were led by Brothers Jimz Caster Zamora and Rvy Medicielo, both ministers of the gospel, respectively.

The newly baptized brethren, together with those in the process of joining the Church from the nearby local congregations of Falconridge, Riverbend, Pineridge, Downtown, Heritage Park, and Lethbridge, attended the appreciation activity afterwards. During the brief program, they were given certificates and tokens of appreciation.

“We are happy in welcoming them inside the true Church,” said Brother Zamora. “We can also see that the attendees were inspired in continuing their membership in the Church.” — With reports from Samantha Pile of INC News Section
