“I admire your programs, because I know that you’re doing a lot of good things not only to your members, but also to the community as a whole.”

Thus commented Frosty Barnachea about the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) during the Care For Humanity event held in the Herman Prior Centre in the town of Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, Canada, to which she was invited.

On July 9, 2023, the brethren in Portage La Prairie Group Worship Service (GWS) handed out care packages containing items of basic daily necessities to their town neighbors, along with copies of the Pasugo: God’s Message magazines. The Local Congregation of Fort Garry assisted the Portage La Prairie GWS in hosting this event.

Leading the event, district supervising minister Brother Roland Andrade gave his welcoming remarks to the guests and explained to them that the Church Of Christ is a religious organization that not only shares with others its beliefs, but also extends its aid to those who are in need.

“Even people in this part of the world are going through rough times due to inflation. One of the main goals of this Care For Humanity event is to help our fellowmen in whatever way we can with their daily necessities,” said Brother Jeiel Robregado, resident minister of the Fort Garry Congregation. — With reports from Lycamille Duarte of INC News Section
