Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members in the Ecclesiastical District of Bulacan East, in the Philippines, demonstrated their love for their fellowmen by volunteering in a blood donation activity at the First City Providential College Gymnasium, San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan on October 14, 2023.

The staff of the Bulacan Provincial Blood Center, which is the event’s recipient, helped in facilitating the activity together with the officers of the Society of Communicators and Networkers (SCAN) International.

Brethren who donated first underwent blood screening, even blood typing. “There are a lot of health benefits from donating blood, one of which is replenishment of the blood,” said Emer Pantilla, a regular blood donor from the Local Congregation of Muzon, “As a Church member, this socio-civic activity is also a way of obeying God’s command of helping those in need.”

A total of 189 bags of blood were collected. “We thank our fellow practitioners who volunteered for this event. We thank the Church Administration for launching this program. We’re so eager to hold events like this that is really helpful to the public,” said Laura Opiana, the vice president of the district’s Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS). — With reports from Ezra Betita and Dianne Verduz of INC News Section
