Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from the Ecclesiastical District of Bulacan South, in the Philippines, participated in a blood donation activity that was held at the compound of the district office, which is situated along MacArthur Highway, Saluysoy, Meycauayan City, Bulacan, on November 18, 2023.

The donors first registered themselves, then underwent health examinations to know if they would qualify to donate. The actual donation followed; 150 blood bags were collected.

The Social Services Office (SSO) of the Church and the district Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) collaborated with the Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital (JBLMGH) in facilitating this socio-civic activity. JBLMGH is also the recipient of this event’s cause.

“One of the benefits of donating blood is it helps normalize the iron level in our body, even lessening the risk of having heart disease and chronic liver disease,” said Dr. Alodia Rose Razon, physician from JBLMGH. “Another benefit of donating blood is it improves our emotional health as well. It feels so rewarding that many donate blood as it is a great help for our fellowmen, especially for those who suffer from illnesses requiring blood transfusions,” she added.

Ivie Dareen Antones, a first-time donor from the Lambakin Congregation, shared, “Participating in activities launched by the Church Administration brings joy to my heart.”

“We do this activity of the Church time and again,” said Brother Eufracio Castillo Jr., district supervising minister. “This is one of our ways to help our fellowmen, especially those who need it, which is one of God’s commandments that we must fulfill,” he added. — With reports from Princess Tiu of INC News Section
