Burlington, Ontario Local Congregation’s chronicler Jeanie Canlas was declared winner of the photo-essay contest, which the Ecclesiastical District of Southern Ontario, Canada held at the function hall of the Mississauga Local Congregation on November 26, 2023.

“With this God-given skill, I will continue proclaiming about His wondrous works,” Canlas said. “I will share this talent to my fellow younger brethren so that, they too, will be able to glorify Him.”

Her and fellow photo enthusiasts did their best in depicting the contest’s theme “We need to believe in, trust in, and rely on what God can do for us,” which is the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) theme of activities this year. Relevance to that theme, as well as originality, historicity, image quality, presentation, grammar, and content, constituted the criteria that the panel of judges used as basis in evaluating the entries.

Attendees had the opportunity to witness the visual narratives as shown through a monitor screen while captions were read, thereby creating an engaging experience. “The participants demonstrated not only their photography skills but also their unity with the Church Administration,” said Brother Jose Razon II, district supervising minister, who led this friendly competition. — With reports from Elisha Blair Manaloto of INC News Section
