Lending a hand to nature conservation endeavors in their community,  Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from the Local Congregation of Cambuac, Ecclesiastical District of Bohol, Philippines, conducted tree-planting in Barangay Cambuac Sur, Sikatuna, Bohol, on January 21, 2024. The activity was held in coordination with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

Led by the officers and members of the local congregation’s Society of Communicators and Networkers International (SCAN), brethren first assembled at their house of worship. Together, they planted a total of 200 seedlings the DENR provided. These included bananas, lanzones (langsat), and rambutan.

Ernesto Flores, the congregation’s SCAN president, said, “I’m so happy to be of help to the communities here in Cambuac through this tree planting.”

This socio-civic activity “has also brought enthusiasm and a stronger bond among the brethren,” said Brother Franz Daria, resident minister. “We in Cambuac Congregation will not cease to participate in all of the activities launched by the Church Administration,” he added on behalf of the congregation. — With reports from Kristine May Apat of INC News Section
