Driven by care for their fellowmen, brethren from the Ecclesiastical District of Palayan City, Nueva Ecija took part in a blood donation held on September 23, 2023 at the Nueva Ecija Coliseum.

Officers of Christian Family Organizations (CFO), and Society of Communicators and Networkers International (SCAN) spearheaded the said socio-civic activity. It was held with the support of the Social Services Office (SSO) of the Church, and in collaboration with the Dr. Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Research and Medical Center (PJGMRMC).

As participating brethren entered the venue, they were first asked to undergo health screening. Then, their blood pressure and glucose were checked by medical volunteers. Those who passed the medical evaluations then proceeded to donating their blood. A total of 87 blood bags were collected.

“We are truly happy and grateful that we were able to take part in this activity. We know that through this, we can help many people who are sick,” said.

Dr. Charmaine Tiamzon, a resident doctor of PJGMRMC, shared that not only the recipient benefits from blood donations, but also the donors themselves. “Through our blood donation drives, we help our fellowmen and brethren who need blood. Likewise, the donors also benefit from such activity for, by donating blood, their risk of developing heart ailments decreases,” she stated.

“We encouraged the brethren in our ecclesiastical district to unite so we may help our fellowmen, especially our brethren who have various illnesses,” said Brother Luisito Rivera, district supervising minister, and a donor as well. — With reports from Lyn Andrei Saguiguit of INC News Section
